Why do I go to the USA?
Gary Cooperberg, February 1, 2007
I have been living in Israel with my family for over twenty-five years. I raised my children here and am blessed with watching my grandchildren grow up here as well. Having lived in Kiryat Arba nearly all of these years I can think of no other place where I would prefer to live.
The truth is that I really do not like leaving Israel, even for short visits to the USA. The only reason I go is because I have discovered that I have the ability to speak out, to both Christians and Jews, about the exciting era of Redemption which is just beginning. Too few people speak about this reality and it is essential that people be made aware that our world is truly controlled only by the Creator of the Universe, and that His Plans as outlined in the Torah are, indeed, coming to pass.
For the Jew this means stopping for a moment and thinking about what it means to be Jewish. The Exile is coming to an end, and for a Jew to willingly continue to live in Exile when it is relatively easy to come home to Israel is a grave sin. Most Jews don’t even give the Jewish State a second thought or even a first thought. Clearly Israel has not yet achieved the holy status it is destined to achieve. But even now, with all of its faults and problems, it is a tremendous mitzvah and obligation for the Jew to live here.
And for the non-Jew it is important to recognize that the rebirth of Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel is the beginning of a Divine Process which is destined to continue unto completion. It is vital that he understand that the world does have a Creator and that Israel is His tool to bring holiness to the world. Those who seek to harm Israel are fighting against the Creator of the Universe and will only bring harm to themselves. This is true for individuals as well as nations and power groups. Part of our destiny is that the nations will gather against Israel in an effort to destroy her, much as the mighty empire of Egypt sought to destroy her when she was but a nation of slaves. Just as Egypt was destroyed so too will all of her enemies in our time.
Today the vast numbers of Moslem nations and their incredible power financed by oil are exerting tremendous pressure upon Europe and the USA to turn against the tiny Jewish state, or to at least back away from supporting her. In most of Europe they have already succeeded. Now they are working on the USA and not without some measure of success. The future of the USA and all nations will be determined by how they relate to the Jewish State. Only those who dare confront the majority and stand with the tiny nation of Israel will survive.
This is not an easy message to give. Most would prefer not to hear it, and are likely to mock anyone who would dare deliver it. I am not looking to challenge anyone, nor to engage in debate. I merely seek to encourage those non-Jews who already support Israel when it is extremely unpopular to do so. And to encourage my brothers to at least begin to think about coming home to ensure the future of their children.
