The Only Hope For America

Gary Cooperberg, April 3, 2006

Redemption is part of Biblical Destiny. G-d created Mankind to see it serve His purpose to achieve holiness. Man is an imperfect creation which seeks to deny its destiny. It seeks to deny its Creator in a mad quest for freedom and independence. Yet the only true freedom and independence is to be found in obedience to G-d. While ignorant Man seems to think that G-dly morality makes him a slave, in Truth, it is only via Biblical morality and true service to our G-d that we will ever find genuine freedom, peace and happiness.

G-d created the Jewish People to show all of Mankind how to achieve near perfection. First and foremost the Jewish People is living proof of G-d’s existence. G-d chose one tiny nation which would bring blessing to all of the nations of the world and remind all of Mankind that G-d is the Creator. From the time of Pharaoh until this very day the great powers of every generation tried to oppress and even annihilate the Jewish People. The fact that all of those great powers have faded into but a memory and the Jewish People continues to exist is proof of the existence of G-d.

Today the Jewish nation has returned sovereignty to its ancient homeland, exactly as foretold by the Bible. While, in ancient times, the Land of Israel played a central role in commerce, today this tiny speck on the map of the middle east hardly deserves notice. It has no oil or natural resources to cause the envy of its neighbors. Yet it seems to be the main obstacle to peace in the middle east, and maybe even in the whole world! Why should anyone even care about this insignificant piece of real estate? The Arab nations which surround her are vastly larger and possess all of the natural resources in the region. Why don’t they just ignore her? Why is Israel such an important factor in American foreign policy? It is completely irrational and illogical.

As pragmatic and political the nations of the world seek to be, there is an undercurrent of fear which inspires such interest in this tiny nation. In the twenty-first century, when Man has achieved so many incredible technological advances, he would prefer not to think about G-d. He has already begun to think that it is Mankind itself which has the ability to dominate the world. The nagging ancient "superstitions" of an all knowing Creator is both annoying and threatening to his world outlook. While it may seem relatively easy to deny the existence of a Creator, the very existence of the Jewish People, not to mention the reborn Jewish State, is the greatest challenge to that denial!

The Christian Church in the Middle Ages sought to take the place of the Jewish People and even went so far as to murder Jewish men women and children in the name of their G-d. Their efforts left a stain on Christian history and only proved that their contention was erroneous. Many Christians in this generation have realized that Biblical destiny is not as that professed by the Church. It is the real Jewish People who have seen the beginning of the end of their two thousand year exile and have begun to return home as G-d has promised. While the great majority of Christians still have problems with accepting this proof, a growing minority seeks to stand with Israel and the Jewish People as it sees this as the path to true service of G-d, and the only way to achieve blessing.

As Redemption progresses the forces of evil recognize this process and seek to stop it. It is a desperate and futile effort to deny Biblical destiny. The night is darkest just before dawn and dawn is clearly right around the corner. When Christians try to stand by Biblical values today in the USA they discover strange and powerful forces which seek to stop them. New laws are being enacted to remove G-d from His partnership in the United States. Under the guise of separation of church and state, we find an overwhelming trend to cause a separation of G-d and state. Should this effort succeed it will cause the end of this great country.

When George Bush declared a war on terror he failed to identify the true enemy. When Moses came to Pharaoh and demanded that he free the Jewish People in the name of the G-d of Israel, Pharaoh declared that he never heard of this particular G-d. World history from that moment on was a lesson to teach all of Mankind to know the living G-d of Israel. All of the Arab nations seeking to destroy this tiny country are really trying to prove that their god, Allah, is greater than the Creator of the Universe. Every time that they tried to destroy the Jewish State and failed served as proof that their contention was wrong. Yet the Jewish leaders of Israel were afraid to live up to their destined role and rather than accept miraculous victory and vanquish our enemies, they chose to compromise their obligations and negotiate with those who still seek our destruction. The result of this misguided policy has been terror and tragedy. But our Divine destiny continues despite our refusal to accept it.

Were Bush truly a religious man he would understand that no combination of Arab oil rich countries can stand up to the might of the G-d of Israel. Were he truly concerned about the future of his great country, which is in grave danger today, he would have never suggested that an Arab terrorist organization be given a new state upon Jewish soil. The Arabs already have twenty two nations, every one of which is far larger than the only Jewish one. So why is it so important to cut up tiny Israel even more than she has already been cut up to make yet another enemy Arab state upon her ancient soil? When the American president fears Saudi Oil more than the Living G-d of Creation he sets the path for the destruction of the United States of America. Only by standing with the Jewish State will any nation have hope for continued survival as redemption continues. Most will fail the test.

Project Shofar is sounding the alarm, to Jew and Gentile alike. Time is running out. For the Jew it is time to come home to Israel. And for the Gentile it is time to recognize our Creator and serve Him above petty political interests. Only by standing with the tiny and seemingly defenseless Jewish State can you express true faith in G-d. The future of this tiny country is guaranteed by the Creator. No other country in the world has such a guarantee. If you want to try to save the United States you must strive to return this nation to the G-dly principles upon which she was founded. It seems to be a losing battle, but it is the only hope for the future of America.
