With Leaders Like This Who Needs Enemies?
Gary Cooperberg, June 7, 2005
Yesterday was Jerusalem Day. It marked the alleged liberation of both Jerusalem and our holy Temple Mount. Yet, in reality, we really have liberated nothing. While it is true that all religions have the right to pray on our holy mountain according to Israeli law, in practice Jews are literally banned from praying there since the police are afraid of Moslem riots in reaction to Jewish prayer. In other words, owing to the fear that Moslems will riot, our police prevent Jews from praying at our holiest site! And this with the sanction of our own supreme court!
Well yesterday the Moslems were angry. It was the anniversary of Jewish liberation of Jerusalem and Jews were celebrating by visiting the Temple Mount. Even though the visitors were escorted by Israeli police, hundreds of Arabs threw rocks at the visitors and the police. The Jerusalem Post reported, "In response to the morning rioting, police banned all non-Muslim entry to the compound for the duration of the day. . ."
This, of course, is simply an extension of the Sharon method of dealing with our enemies. If our enemies attack in large numbers the best solution is to retreat and give them what they want. The Arabs want Jews out of Gaza so they attack us with guns and missiles. In response Sharon promises to take all the Jews out of Gaza. The Arabs want no Jews on the Temple Mount, so they throw rocks at visitors and police. In response the police throw out the visitors!
And all of this is the logical follow up of the Oslo mentality. After murdering and maiming Jews in the so called "intifada" (which was nothing less than a military revolution against the Jewish State) Peres and his cohorts bamboozled Rabin into negotiating with the terrorists. The so called "experiment" of Jericho and Gaza first was a disastrous failure which no one seemed to notice. Rather than stopping the retreat and destroying our enemies, we gave them more of our land and promised to build them an independent state on Jewish soil. This noble gesture brought us a new era which found Arabs literally becoming human bombs to murder Jews. The lesson they got from our beneficence was that the more they attack Jews, the more the Jewish government will give them. They learned their lessons well, and we learned nothing from our own stupid mistakes which we continue to make.
Clearly, any normal government would react to attacks by destroying the attackers. Had Sharon stated that by the end of the year not one Arab would remain in Gaza the entire Knesset would attack him as a racist. But when he calls for the uprooting of whole Jewish communities he gets the endorsement of the Knesset! Were the Israeli police ordered to remove all the Arabs from our holy Temple Mount in order to prevent riots there is no doubt that the entire Knesset would be in an uproar condemning the decision. Yet the decision to reward the rioters has the specific endorsement of our Supreme Court!
We don’t need enemies. We have a prime minister, a Knesset and a Supreme Court which are working together to enable our enemies to destroy us. How can anyone not see the miracle of our survival? Had we a Jewish leadership which was prepared to serve G-d with the same dedication that our Arab enemies seek to serve their "Allah", true peace would have been achieved decades ago.
