Israel And Turkey Hold Joint Rescue Exercise

Israel will join the United States and Turkey to hold joint search-and-rescue maneuvers in the Mediterranean Sea next week, The Jerusalem Post reported.
The exercises, first held six years ago, will simulate searches for ships in distress and missing civilians and is designed to improve coordination and interoperability between the three countries' forces. Called Reliant Mermaid, the maneuvers will be the first since NATO announced it wants to broaden cooperation with Israel in the war on terrorism.
Turkey, a Muslim nation enjoys close cooperation with Israel.
