How can any Government Commit an act of Treason against its own Country and get away with it?

Olmert is at it again. As Sharon's poodle, Ehud Olmert, who exchanged his job as Mayor of Jerusalem to be appointed by Sharon as his deputy Prime Minister, is once again trying to pave the way for another dramatic Likud reversal from right to left. It was Olmert who first suggested the unilateral surrender of the Gaza Strip to the PLO. Now, even before this cowardly plan is bulldozed upon the citizens of Israel, without their as much as being consulted, we are being prepared for yet further intended unilateral surrender of Jewish Land in Judea and Samaria!

How is it possible that a democratically elected Prime Minister of Israel can openly commit acts of treason with no accountability? Traitor, many would say, is a harsh word. But how else can you describe a Prime Minister who was overwhelmingly elected on his promise that he would dismantle no settlements, and then proclaims his intention to dismantle all the Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip. . . just for a starter? He gambled with democracy by allowing his Likud party to vote on his decision and he lost. Yet, despite a clear rejection by his own party, he continues to vow to throw every Jew out of Gaza! Now, giving the Devil his due, it may be that he really thinks that there is good reason to do what he is doing. But that does not give him the right to arbitrarily reverse the very ideology which saw him elected without at least first consulting the electorate.

There are those in this country who will condemn my democratic right to express my opinion as creating an atmosphere of violence. Yet it is the flaunting of democratic due process on the part of the Prime Minister which is truly creating this dangerous atmosphere. When an allegedly democratic country finds itself led by a Prime Minister who acts like a dictator and its people are deprived of their most basic right to freedom, security and their own property, with no democratic recourse, that is a recipe for disaster.

It is most certainly not my desire to see our Prime Minister assassinated. I certainly do not want to see a Jewish civil war in my country. We have enough enemies who seek our destruction. It is an outrage that we have leaders who seem to be working for our enemies. They have rightfully declared that we have no partners to talk to. Then they go ahead and negotiate with themselves, deciding to surrender Jewish Land, and throw Jews out of their homes where the Jewish government encouraged them to live, and claim that this is good for Israel!

Clearly this is madness and yes, even treason. I will not bother arguing why the concept of unilateral surrender is wrong. All I want to make clear in this article is the fact that our leadership is breaking the law and violating the most basic rights of her citizens. If there is no redress to this crime there is little doubt that desperate people will do desperate things.
