Some 61 Israeli lawmakers called on Ariel Sharon to bring more Falash Mura from Ethiopia.

In a petition sent to the Israeli prime minister, the lawmakers, more than half of Israel’s 120-member Knesset, called for Israel to increase the rate of immigration of the Falash Mura, Ethiopians whose ancestors converted to Christianity but who have resumed practicing Judaism.

Currently, about 300 immigrate each month, Ha’aretz reported. There are believed to be 14,000 Falash Mura remaining in Ethiopia.
