In an effort to increase aliyah to Israel, MASA will help bring Jews back to their ancient biblical "Holy Land" or "Promised Land" in fulfilling the realization of prophecy.

A new program aims to bring 20,000 young Jews to Israel each year on long-term programs.

The MASA program is being funded by the Israeli government, the Jewish Agency for Israel and participants’ families. The program is expected to launch in 2005. The Israeli government has pledged $10 million for 2005 and is slated to increase its contribution to $50 million in 2008-2009
