US Will Ban Al Manar
Gary Fitleberg, December 15, 2004
The United States is placing Hezbollah’s television channel on its terrorism exclusion list.
An announcement placing al-Manar on the U.S. State Department list will be made by the end of the week, according to an official.
France recently banned the TV station, which is run by Lebanon’s Hezbollah -- designated a terrorist group by the U.S. State Department -- for broadcasting incitement.
Placing al-Manar on the U.S. terrorist exclusion list could curtail its U.S. activities, including its broadcasts over a U.S. satellite network.
