Pakistan’s involvement in the Arab-Israeli peace process is welcome, Israel’s ambassador to Washington said.
When they met Saturday in Washington, President Bush and Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf primarily discussed bringing the Islamic nation into the Arab-Israeli peace process. Israeli ambassador Daniel Ayalon said Wednesday that Israel would "very much" welcome Pakistan’s contribution.
"It is important for major leaders from Islamic countries to talk positively about the future and to talk of recognition of Israel," Ayalon said Wednesday in New York, where he was addressing the Israel Project and the New York Jewish Community Relations Council.
