Hezbollah's satellite television channel accused Israel of spreading AIDS in the Arab world.

A commentator described as an expert on the "Zionist entity" recently said on Al-Manar that Israel "has in over the past few years repeatedly tried to spread AIDS in the Arab world."

The recent broadcast caused uproar in France, where Jewish groups have lobbied for the channel to be banned. In the wake of the report, the French broadcasting authority asked for permission to ban the Hezbollah channel.
