Powell: Iran Adapting Missiles For Nuclear Warheads

Secretary of State Colin Powell said Wednesday that Iran is trying to develop missiles capable of carrying nuclear weapons, The Washington Post reported. "There is no doubt in my mind -- that they have been interested in a nuclear weapon that has utility, meaning that it is something that they would be able to deliver," Powell said.

Powell’s statement came days after Iran promised European diplomats that it would temporarily suspend efforts to enrich uranium, a key step in assembling atomic bombs.

Meanwhile, the Iranian exile group that first exposed Tehran’s illicit nuclear program charged that the Islamic Republic is enriching uranium at a site hidden from international observers.
