A Belgian Jewish soccer team filed a police complaint after anti-Semitic insults were hurled at players.

Members of the Maccabi Brussels youth team were greeted with anti-Semitic chants on Oct. 30 when they arrived to play FC Harem, a mainly Turkish team also from the Brussels area, La Libre Belgique reported Wednesday.

The referee briefly stopped the match to warn the Haren players to cease the chanting, or he would be forced to call off the game. Following the match, parents and players continued the abuse, shouting "Heil Hitler" at the Jewish team. Maccabi officials also wrote to the Belgian Football Association to condemn the incident.
