IAEA Tells Iran to Stop Nuclear Program

The head of the U.N.'s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reiterated world concern about Iran's uranium enrichment program, a key step toward building nuclear weapons, Reuters reported.

"I am calling on them obviously to fully suspend all enrichment-related activities," Mohamed ElBaradei, the IAEA chief, said.

The IAEA demanded last month that Iran suspend enrichment programs but stopped short of referring the issue to the U.N. Security Council, which could impose economic sanctions on Iran to slow its nuclear program.

Iran has 37 tons of uranium, enough to build several atomic weapons.
