American-Israeli Team Wins Nobel Prize For Chemistry

A team of American and Israeli scientists has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry for a breakthrough discovery about how cells operate, The Washington Post reported.
The scientists are Irwin Rose of the University of California at Irvine and Avram Hershko and Aaron Ciechanover, both of the Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa.
The scientists discovered the method cells use to detect and recycle defective proteins.
