Members of Congress who form a U.S.-Israel Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Strategic Cooperation are currently visiting Israel the same week that a senior State Department counter-terrorism official is meeting with Israeli officials to coordinate the fight against terrorism, The Jerusalem Post and Ha'aretz reported.
The bipartisan congressional delegation, which includes Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ), Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA), Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Rep. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), met with Palestinian Authority (PA) Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei on Tuesday and planned meetings with MK Yuval Steinitz, Chair of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, and MKs Ephraim Sneh (Labor), Omri Sharon (Likud) and Ehud Yatom (Likud).
Meanwhile, State Department Coordinator for Counter-terrorism Cofer J. Black is also in Israel for talks with Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom and other Israeli officials on cooperation in the fight against terror
